Keeneland race course in Lexington, Ky., is hosting the championships for the third time since the Breeders' Cup was first held there in 2015, when Triple Crown winner American Pharoah brought the curtain down on his Horse of the Year season with a facile victory in the mile and one-quarter Classic. Undefeated Flightline is expected to be crowned the star of this year's Breeders' Cup and was installed the 3-5 favorite in the Classic off his dominating 19 1/4-length victory in the Grade 1 Pacific Classic at Del Mar in September. That followed Grade 1 victories in the Metropolitan Mile Handicap at Belmont Park in June and the Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita last December. He has seven opponents in the Classic as he seeks his sixth consecutive career victory. In today's Breeders' Cup News Minute, Ray Paulick sets the stage for the two-day festival, which features five championship races on Friday and nine on Saturday.
