Rood And Riddle To Host Workshop On Equine Neurologic Diseases
Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital will present a workshop on Neurologic Diseases of the Horse Feb. 20-22 at its main campus in Lexington, Ky.
“The workshop aims to bring together experienced equine veterinarians to foster discussion and skill development. This collaborative environment will advance the skill set of all attending, as well as raise new questions, devise new areas of research, and facilitate partnership between attending veterinarians,” states the brochure.
Presentations will cover issues like the orthopaedic pathology of cervical vertebral malformation, as well as experiences with the disease in Europe and the United States, challenges in diagnosing EPM, rehabilitating the neurologic horse and more. Presenters from Colorado State, Rainbow Equine Hospital, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Kentucky and Rood and Riddle will take part.

Additionally, demonstrations on CT myelograms, ventral stabilization surgery and detailed spinal evaluation will take place. Also offered are wet labs, which include ultrasound-guided cervical facet injections, spinal taps and more.
