Chesapeake Farm Announces ‘Breed Smart’ Incentive For Moretti

Chesapeake Farm is proud to announce the availability of stakes winner and multiple Grade 2-placed Moretti for his first breeding season in 2023.

Moretti is the son of Grade 1 Winner Rigoletta and perennial top stallion and sire of sires Medaglia d'Oro. During his career, he ran on the competitive New York circuit for Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher, winning the Flat Out Stakes and the Birdstone Stakes, and placing in the Grade 2 Suburban Stakes and the G2 Brooklyn Stakes He retired with four wins and seven places, earning $367,250.

Moretti's striking looks were evident as a yearling, when he commanded $900,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale. He is a strong, athletic, gorgeous stallion who is sure to bring his combination of pedigree, talent and beauty to the breeding shed.

Moretti comes from a deep female family of Grade 1 runners. Aside from being out of a Grade 1 winner and sired by a Grade 1 winner, he is the half-brother to 2017 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile Champion Battle of Midway. His female family also includes Grade 1 winner Patternrecognition, champion Musical Romance, and numerous other graded stakes winners. He enters the 2023 breeding season with a $5,000 LFSH fee.
