Jafmil Relocated To Pleasant Acres Stallions In Florida For 2023

Pleasant Acres Stallions is pleased to announce the arrival of Jafmil (Distorted Humor x Pleasant Temper, by Storm Cat) – who will stand in Florida for the 2023 breeding season for a $2,500 fee.

Jafmil is by Distorted Humor – sire of 941 winners, 138 (11.2%) black type winners, 246 (19.99%) black type horses, 55 graded stakes winners, 15 Grade 1 winners, and $132 million in progeny earnings.

Jafmil's 1st dam, multiple stakes winner Pleasant Temper (Storm Cat x Colonial Witch, by Pleasant Colony) was on the board 22 out of 33 starts with career earnings of nearly $850,000. She produced five winners from six starters, including Pleasant Song – dam of graded stakes winner Long Range Toddy, an earner of nearly $1.2 million.

“We are excited to have a son of Distorted Humor in the breeding shed for our Florida breeders,” said Joe Barbazon. “Now pensioned, Distorted Humor emerged as an influential champion sire whose progeny excelled on turf, dirt, in North America, and across the world. Having one of his sons at Pleasant Acres Stallions is a great addition to our breeding program.”

Jafmil entered into stud in 2011 in Iowa and has mostly bred privately. Jafmil is sire to Naughty Shirley ($224,090) – winner of the Mamie Eisenhower Stakes. He has also sired Sassy Ain't I ($118,988, 3rd Iowa Breeders' Oaks), Jafmils Persuader ($115,596, 3rd Bob Bryant Stakes), Not Rocket Science ($107,405, 3rd Dan Johnson Sprint Stakes), Erratic Behavior ($234,886), Smoky Blues ($178,590), etc. His progeny average earnings per starter is almost $65,000 and includes one black type winner and two black type placers.

Jafmil joins stallions Amira's Prince, Bucchero, Curlin's Honor, Gone Astray, Gunnevera, Leinster, Long On Value, Magic On Tap, Neolithic, No Never No More, and Sweetontheladies, at the 220-acre farm located just northwest of Ocala.

Pleasant Acres Stallions has received many accolades for excellence, including 2021 Florida Freshman Sire of the Year for Neolithic, 2017 Florida Freshman Sire of the Year for Poseidon's Warrior, 2017 DRF Florida-bred Beyer Award, 2009 Florida Breeder of the Year, 2009 Florida Broodmare of the Year, Breeder of the 2009 Florida Horse of the Year, and was ranked third in the nation for leading breeders in 2009 by average earnings per starter with 10 or more starters.
