Mo The Beholder To Stand At BG Thoroughbred Farm In California For 2023

Mo the Beholder

Mo the Beholder, a son of Uncle Mo from the family of Into Mischief and Beholder, will stand the 2023 breeding season at BG Thoroughbred Farm in Hemet, Calif., for an advertised fee of $2,500.

The unraced 5-year-old is out of the Curlin mare Leslie's Harmony, who was a $1.1 million purchase by Bridlewood Farm at the 2014 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Leslie's Harmony is herself out of the 2016 Broodmare of the Year Leslie's Lady, making her a sibling to four-time champion Beholder, and a trio of notable sires: the record-setting Into Mischief, Breeders' Cup winner Mendelssohn, and Curlin to Mischief, who was California's leading third-crop sire of 2021, and currently the state's top fourth-crop sire of 2022.

Mo the Beholder is by Uncle Mo, who has emerged as a dynamic sire of sires. His prominent sons at stud have included three of the top four freshman sires of 2020: Nyquist, Laoban, and Outwork as well young sires Mo Town, Yaupon, Modernist, and Caracaro, and newcomers Mo Donegal and Golden Pal.

“If you believe in pedigree, you will believe in Mo the Beholder,” said owner Chris Acosta. “He is California's link to Kentucky royalty. The future is now.”
