Chilukki Winner Molly Morgan Pointing Towards Falls City
Bill Cubbedge’s Molly Morgan, who collected her third graded stakes win of the year on Saturday with a 2 ¼-length victory in the $237,510 Chilukki (Grade II) at Churchill Downs, exited the one-mile race for fillies and mares in good order and will be pointed to the $200,000-added Falls City Handicap (GII) on Thanksgiving Day, according to Dale Romans’ chief assistant Baldemar Bahena.
“She came out of the race in good shape,” Bahena said Sunday morning. “If everything goes according to plan she’ll be back in the (Nov. 27) Falls City later on in the meet.”
Molly Morgan finished seventh as a 27-1 outsider in last year’s Falls City but has shown her top form under the Twin Spires since then, winning the Chilukki and $216,200 Fleur de Lis Handicap (GII) with seconds in the $327,000 La Troienne (GI) on Kentucky Derby Day and $108,200 Locust Grove.
