Giacomo, Heatseeker among new stallions standing in California

Grade 1 winner Heatseeker  and 2005 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo top the list of stallions who will be standing in California beginning in 2012, according to the Daily Racing Form. California breeders are encouraged by the list of 16 new stallions in the state – nearly twice as many as last year.

Giacomo is bound for Magali Farms, where he will stand for $5,000; and Heat Seeker will stand at Harris Farms for $6,500. Both horses stood at Kentucky farms in 2011.

First-year stallions to California include Bold Chieftain, Informed, Noble Court, and Slew’s Tiznow.
