Hoosier Park hikes purses thanks to simulcast revenues
Hoosier Park Racing & Casino announced a purse increase effective Tuesday, Sept. 27 for the remainder of the 2011 Thoroughbred racing season, which continues through Sunday, Oct. 23.
Purses have been raised for non conditioned claiming races of $10,000 and above by $3,000 per race. Other races for $7,500 and above have had purses raised $2,000 per race. The increase is due largely to the strong simulcasting export of Hoosier Park’s races this season.
“We have had a strong demand for our simulcasting signal and as a result, we’ve had more exposure and we are in more locations this year,” said Kevin Greely, racing secretary. “We have been able to gain this exposure because of the increase in quality of our product and the content of our races. All of this has been made possible by the support of our horsemen here at Hoosier Park.”
