Wednesday's Rainbow 6 Carryover Swells To $1.7 Million At Gulfstream Park
The 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot swelled to $1,778,601.01 for Wednesday’s program after going unsolved for the 20st straight program Sunday at Gulfstream Park.
A total of $578,543 was wagered into the pool for the popular multi-race wager, which offered a $1,639,779 carryover jackpot heading into Sunday’s card. Multiple tickets with all six winners each returned $1,638.64.
The popular multi-race wager was last hit Jan. 28, when the mandatory payout of a North American record $19.779 million pool produced multiple winning tickets worth $15,566.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Hot-riding Irad Ortiz Jr. registered his third four-win performance during the last four programs at Gulfstream Park Sunday, scoring aboard Fast Eddie E ($5.80) in the sixth race, Mo Smart ($3.60) in the ninth, Set Me Up ($4) in the 10th, and Passport to Chaos ($6.60) in the 12th.
Leading rider Luis Saez notched win No. 100 for the 2017-2018 Championship Meet while winning Sunday’s second race aboard Indominus ($5.60). The 25-year-old jockey won his 100th race during the 2016-2017 Championship Meet on March 30, two days before clinching the jockey’s title with 102 wins, succeeding five-time defending champion Javier Castellano.
Castellano, who rode a winner trained by his brother Abel Castellano Jr. for the first time in Sunday’s third race aboard Nothins Free, set the record of 132 wins during the 2013-2014 Championship Meet.
