Irish Trainer Banned Three Years for Steroid Possession
According to the Racing Post, Irish trainer Philip Fenton was given a three-year ban from training by the Turf Club, a month after being convicted of the possession of anabolic steroids and other banned substances.
Fenton, who was initially fined for the incident, is the first trainer in Ireland to be convicted of anabolic steroid possession.
The trainer's licenses will be suspended on Nov. 28, and he will be barred from attending any Irish race meeting beginning Mar. 1 next year.
