MacAdam: NYRA 'Playing With Fire At Saratoga'
In a column for The Daily Gazette, Mike MacAdam writes about the public response to the many recent changes the New York Racing Assocation is making to Saratoga Race Course.
"It’s one thing to look under every pebble in the quest to turn a profit. That’s all that a corporation is about. And it isn’t NYRA president and CEO Chris Kay’s job to win a popularity contest, wrote MacAdam. "But NYRA is playing with fire at Saratoga."
E-mails sent to MacAdam from readers after NYRA's preview press conference Monday were angry about the changes and hike in prices. “NYRA is losing touch fast with the commoners,” one reader wrote.
