Bill Cubbedge's Molly Morgan rebounded off a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Spinster last month to take command of Saturday's Grade 2, $200,000 Chilukki Stakes at Churchill Downs.

Street Girl was second, and Enchanting Lisa finished third. They ran the dirt mile event in 1:36.97.

Trainer Dale Romans has saddled Molly Morgan to three wins this year, including a four-length victory in the Grade 2 Fleur de Lis in June. Corey Lanerie was aboard for the Chilukki score.

"She's just a different horse here," Lanerie said. "I don't know if it's the night time or what but it seems like her best races have come under the lights. This horse runs at a different spot on the rail; she gets really close. When I put her on there she really seemed to accelerate; it was like I pushed the button and she went easy today. I thought she ran great."

Bred in Kentucky by Cubbedge, Mike Lauffer, and Greg McDonald, Molly Morgan is a 5-year-old daughter of Adena Springs stallion Ghostzapper out of the Distorted Humor mare Capitulation.

"She absolutely loves this racetrack and she's really come around," said Baldemar Bahena, assistant to trainer Romans. "I think it was a lot easier for her to run here than go out to California (for Friday's $2 million Breeders' Cup Distaff) and I'm glad it worked out."

Anahauc was fourth, followed by Spring in the Air, My Option, Drama Drama, Call Pat, Honey Hues, and My Happy Face.
