Four New York racing fans named to advisory council
Saratoga Springs residents Patrick Connors, Michael Amo and Allen Carter, and M. Kelly Young of Albany, have been named to a newly created four-member Racing Fan Advisory Council charged with providing input to the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
Connors, a law professor at Albany Law School, has been an avid racing fan since 1989. Amo, a published author and co-owner of a health care consulting business, is co-founder of the Thoroughbred Racing Fan Association. Carter is a historian at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. And Young, an associate director of national affairs for New York Farm Bureau, has been an active harness racing participant since 1995.
The racing fan advisory council’s mission is to grow racing’s fan base. Each member serves a 5-year unpaid term.
