Longtime British trainer Michael Jarvis dies at 73

Recently retired British trainer Michael Jarvis died Tuesday at the age of 73, reports the Racing Post.  Jarvis trained for more than four decades before his retirement in February following heart surgery and treatment for prostate cancer.

Jarvis worked for Tower Gosden - John's father - before launching his own training career at Newmarket in 1968.  He saddled numerous high-class winners including Arc champion Carroll House.
