Macho Man: Stevens Donates Portion of BC Winnings to T'Bred Rescue
Gary Stevens, winning last year's Breeders' Cup Classic on Mucho Macho Man
Hall of Fame rider Gary Stevens had a tremendous Breeders' Cup weekend, notching victories in the Distaff (Beholder) and Classic (Mucho Macho Man).
In the days since the Breeders' Cup, Stevens, along with his wife, Angie, have shared in their good fortune and have donated $5,000 from Stevens' Breeders' Cup earnings to Remember Me Rescue. The Thoroughbred rescue facility is trying to raise funds to purchase a $60,000 cold salt-water spa, which rehabs tendon injuries.
Donna Keen, president of Remember Me Rescue, hopes that Stevens' donation will help lead others to donate.
