Australia: Racing NSW To Implement New Drug Testing Program
According to the Daily Telegraph, it is expected that the Racing New South Wales board will give approval to immediately implement a drug testing program that has been a year in the planning.
This new program accompanies an undercover investigation unit that has the power to inspect stables unannounced at any time. The unit has already aided stewards in investigations of illegal practices.
“Racing NSW will always invest whatever money it takes to protect public confidence in the sport and to ensure all participants are on a level playing field," said Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'landys. “These innovations are subject to board approval but they are world’s best practice."
