Authorities Shut Down Illegal Track in New Mexico

Authorities raided a facility in Valencia County, N.M., this week, where they suspect illegal racing has been taking place for years.

According to an Associated Press report, the investigation had been going on for over a year and involved federal, state, and county law enforcement.

A search of the facility uncovered a "well-maintained" track and set of starting gates. Undercover agents witnessed alcohol and (possibly) illegal drugs being sold at the facility, where they said hundreds gathered for live races on a regular basis.
