NJ bill would allow off-track betting at bars, restaurants

New Jersey state legislators will open hearings later this week on a bill that would allow some bars and restaurants to install off-track betting terminals. 

Bill sponsor John Burzichelli tells the Star-Ledger the bill is intended “to allow racing to find a new audience.”  Thoroughbred and standardbred horsemen support the measure, which would permit up to 60 licenses to be granted.
