A Special Kind of Horsepower: Clydesdales Show Off Their Racing Skills
Last Sunday, Exeter Racecourse in Exeter, England, hosted an eight-race card of hurdle/jump races. However, in addition to the regular contests, there was an additional, and very unique, race for Clydesdales run on the flat.
As part of Exeter's 'Devon Day' events, five Clydesdales went to the post to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance. National Hunt jockeys piloted the gentle giants in the two-furlong dash, which resulted in a photo finish with Tom Parker (the horse) winning by a head.
No word on the final time, or when Tom Parker will make his next start.
