HRTV to Offer On-Track Coverage of Holiday Weekend Racing
The Thanksgiving holiday weekend annually produces great racing and HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will give racing fans in-depth on-site coverage of major stakes action from three key racing venues -- Churchill Downs, Aqueduct, and Gulfstream Park -- beginning on Friday, Nov. 29.
On Friday, Jill Byrne will report for HRTV from beneath the Twin Spires, as the Grade 1, $500,000 Clark Handicap headlines the bill, with the great Game On Dude and Breeders' Cup Classic runner-up, Will Take Charge, expected to top that superb field. Byrne will also report on Saturday's closing day card which is headlined by a pair of 2-year-old $175,000 events -- the Golden Rod for fillies and Kentucky Jockey Club for colts.
The spotlight shines bright at Aqueduct on Saturday, with the Grade 1, $500,000 Cigar Mile expected to draw an extraordinary field, including two recent Breeders' Cup winners -- Goldenscents (Dirt Mile) and Groupie Doll (F & M Sprint) -- along with an excellent supporting cast. HRTV's Richard Migliore will provide his unique views on the spectacular card, which also offers two Grade 2, $250,000 tests, the Remsen and the Demoiselle.
The Gulfstream Park Winter meeting, annually one of the sport's signature sessions, kicks off on Saturday, and the network's Caton Bredar will report on the happenings from Hallandale. Two $100,000 stakes -- the Pulpit and Wait a While -- headline the opening day card.
