Summers, 32, recently acquired his training license at Gulfstream Park, and will point Mind Your Biscuits to the G3 Gulfstream Park Sprint on Feb. 25. Summers owns Mind Your Biscuits in concert with his father and brother, having purchased the colt privately when he did not meet his reserve at the OBS April 2-year-old in training sale, with a minority stake later purchased by Head of Plains Partners and Michael Kisber. The 4-year-old son of Posse, third in the 2016 Breeders' Cup Sprint (moved up to second with DQ of Masochistic), was trained during his sophomore season by 23-year-old Robert Falcone Jr. As a 2-year-old, Mind Your Biscuits was trained by Roderick Rodriguez. Other horses Summers has purchased at the sales, and later sold privately, include G1 winner Off the Tracks, multiple G3 winner Tommy Macho, and G3 winner Arella Rockstar. “On one hand, I feel like I paid my dues and earned this,” said Summers. “On the other, I feel extremely fortunate and blessed. This is a humbling game, and I know how lucky I am to be in this position.” Read more at drf.com.
