British betting company offers odds on Triple Crown double
William Hill, a British betting company, is offering 9-4 odds that I'll Have Another will win the Belmont and Camelot will win the St. Leger, reports the Thoroughbred Times. Both horses have won the first two legs of their Triple Crowns. I'll Have Another will attempt to win the final leg of the American Triple Crown on Saturday. Camelot's connections are considering running their colt in the St. Leger later this year.
If both horses were to win their respective races, it would be the second time in history that such a feat was accomplished. The only other time the American Triple Crown and British Triple Crown were won in the same year was in 1935 when Omaha won in America and Bahram won in Britain.
"Like buses, it seems you can wait ages for a live Triple Crown contender - then two come along at once!" William Hill spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes said. "Camelot attempting the British Triple Crown and I'll Have Another bidding for the stateside version really is a mouth-watering, once-in-a-lifetime prospect."
