Multiple Grade 1 winner Bellafina, who finished second in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Santa Anita Park, will be withdrawn from the Fasig-Tipton November Sale and remain in training for a 2020 campaign.

The decision was announced Sunday morning via the Twitter account of Hill 'n' Dale Farms, which was slated to consign the 3-year-old Quality Road filly on Tuesday at the Fasig-Tipton November sale in Lexington, Ky.

“I love racing and Bellafina is a joy to me and my family," a statement from owner Kaleem Shah read in a Hill 'n' Dale tweet. "She ran a great race yesterday deserves to get another opportunity to win a Breeders' Cup race next year.”

Bellafina has won six of 12 career starts for earnings of $1,386,725. Trained by Simon Callaghan, the filly's marquee wins include the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante Stakes, Chandelier Stakes, and Santa Anita Oaks, along with the G2 Sorrento Stakes, Santa Ynez Stakes, and Las Virgenes Stakes.

In the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, Bellafina sat in tight near the back of the pack, worked her way outside through the turn under jockey Flavien Prat, and was closing fast on leader Covfefe, but she ultimately finished three-quarters of a length behind the winning favorite.

Bred in Kentucky by JSM Equine, out of the stakes-placed Malibu Moon mare Akron Moon, Bellafina was an $800,000 purchase by Shah at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Select 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale.
