While her immediate goal is to win the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, and hopefully an Eclipse Award, the long term plans for Grade 1 winner By the Moon are already being hammered out.

According to a report in the BloodHorse, the 5-year-old daughter of Indian Charlie will be bred to champion Arrogate in 2018. Samantha Siegal, the owner-breeder of By the Moon, announced the news Nov. 2.

"I ran into the Juddmonte guys and asked if I could announce it, and they gave the OK," Siegel said. "They were interested in buying her when they were pursuing Paulassilverlining, but I didn't want to sell her. I'm definitely keeping her and she's going into my broodmare band."

"She's not an enormous filly, so I hope he can give her baby some size and some stamina," Siegel added. "Maybe I can breed myself a Derby horse."
