South Australian Jockey Suspended After Punching Horse
Jockey Dylan Caboche has been handed a two-week suspension by Thoroughbred Racing South Australia (TRSA) stewards after he punched his mount prior to a race at Port Lincoln Racecourse earlier this week. The entire event was caught on camera.
Racing.com reports that the incident occurred at the starting gate, prior to Caboche's mount, She's Reneldasgirl, being loaded. Caboche had hopped off the filly in an attempt to settle her down after she had become fractious. Once out of the saddle, Caboche "inexplicably" punched the filly in the stomach. She's Renaldasgirl went on to finish eighth out of ten.
According to Punters.com, Caboche's suspension will run from midnight Nov. 17 to Dec. 1.
