Australian superstar mare Winx will race in 2019, trainer Chris Waller told channelnewsasia.com on Friday. The 7-year-old daughter of Street Cry will look to extend her 29-race win streak with a return to the track in February's G2 Apollo Stakes at Royal Randwick, and could make her final start in April's G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

"We have and will continue to keep things simple with Winx and I believe that has been a big part of her longevity as well as something we are very proud of," Waller said. "She has nothing left to prove to us or her many followers and we are under no illusion that she is getting a little older, however, she is in excellent condition both physically and mentally and had she not pleased us in any area of her well-being or mental state she would have been retired immediately."

A four-time winner of the Cox Plate, Winx's overall record stands at 33 wins from 39 starts with earnings just shy of AUS$23 million (US$16 million).
