Espinoza Gearing Up For Triple Crown Attempt

Santa Anita's Jonathan Murrietta caught up with Victor Espinoza earlier this week before the jockey heads to Belmont Park to contest the Belmont Stakes with Triple Crown hopeful American Pharoah.
Prior to Saturday's race, Espinoza has been riding winners and signing plenty of autographs, and even made an appearance to throw out the first pitch at an Los Angeles Angels game. There he met Miguel Cabrera, winner of a Triple Crown in his own sport.
"I practiced just a couple times before I went to the field, but it was fun," Espinoza reflected. Of Cabrera, he added, "He's a cool guy."
