Indian Relay Races Kick Off Emerald's Friday Card
Horses of a different sort were on display Friday evening at Emerald Downs as the Washington track hosted Indian relay races before their Thoroughbred card began. In the "Battle of the Horse Racing Nations," riders zoomed around the oval, exchanging horses at designated spots.
There were three two-mile heats on Friday, and, according to Emerald Downs media, the competition will continue with heats on Saturday and Sunday as well.
